Need advice on suing company

I applied for a H1 in Apr 2007. After going back and forth for 1+ year, the company finally told me the case was denied. They are refusing to send me the denial notice. I had paid them the processing fees.

Do I not have the right to view the denial notice? They are saying it is a company document and I am not entitled to it.

I want to sue them and force them to provide me with the denial notice. I also want to sue them to get my money refunded, for lost wages and for punitive damages.

Anyone have any experience with this? Any recommendations for law firms? Do I need to go to an immigration attorney or a civil attorney?

You acted illegally by paying the company for the H1 application. H1 fees must be payed by the employer. Based on the unclean hands doctrine you are unlikely to ever recover anything from them. On top of that USCIS might accuse you of immigration fraud. Find an employer who is genuinely willing to hiring you without you paying them money up front and take this as a lesson learned.
