Hi,
I just graduated from college and found a company in San Diego that most likely want to sponsor h1b visa for me.

However, I learn that there is a min wages to apply for h1b visa.
I was offered $36K for an entry level web programmer (asp stuff)
but I heard that this is not enough to qualify for an h1b visa application.

Anybody knows approximate wage for entry level position for web programmer?

Any advice how I can get around this without finding a another job  ?
Thanks for any reply.

Apply LCA through fax, you will get minimum wage. However, the attorney will take care of this issue.

LCA Prevailing Wages

could you explain more about that?
thanks!

Before applying h1b, each empolyer must get prevailing wage by filling up LCA (Labor condition application) to get prevailing wage for the job offered . Without that INS will not accept any H1b petition. LCA can be done through fax to respective state employment development department.

If you are engaging an attorney, they will do it this, as a part of H1b process.

Hi
San Diego County

Entry Level Wage is 24.03 $ per hour. Around $ 48K per year. This is the prevailing wage for a programmer in general.
