need advice on funds required for B2 visa to visit US for a month

Hi
I am currently studying Masters from UK and on student tier 4 visa. I need to go US for a month on visitors visa to visit my friend who is studying in US.I need to knw that how much funds should i show in my account to get B2 visa for a month and how old the fund should be.

Also Plz let me knw if my friend can sponsor me who is also on student visa in US.And how much fund he will have to show to sponsor me.

Please advice...
 
Visit visas are self sponsored. You will have to show that you have sufficient funds to pay for the trip and expenses in US for 1 month. There is no prescribed dollar amount.
 
thanks for the reply...but still if u hav ne idea how much fund should be sufficient to get the visa easily without any problem.
I will be staying with my friend in US during the visit so if i can get the letter from my friend that he will take care of the the stay.
Is 1000 pounds sufficient to show in my bank account??
