Experts please advice.
My wife filed for my green card in June, 2005. I received my I-485 interview call notice in September, did interview last week (28thNov). Thinking i would receive my Permanent Resident Card in weeks after interview, I dint apply for I-131. I was/am planning to travel in first week of January'06. The INS officer said every thing is okay on my application but FBI clearance is still pending, so he cant approve it until FBI clearance is approved (which he told could take either 1 day or upto 9 months). If I apply for I-131 now through mail it will take atleast couple of months to approve. I do know an Emergency advanced parole can be filed in person, and it could be only in case of medical emergency. If i get a dr. letter from india saying my aunt or grand parent is sick would that be okay. Or i need a letter from immediate family? Reason, I am asking about immediate family is because my parents were in US untill this tuesday (6th dec) and went to india. If i show my dad or mom is sick and i need to go and just in case they verify the information I would be screw'd. I need to go no matter what but need approved AP. Does INS local office they make a big deal in approving emergency AP? I am in located in los angeles, CA.
Any comments / tips would be highly appreciated. If any body can post their experience would be appreciated.
P.S: I apologize if my post is redundant, i searched on the portal but couldnt find any similar post.
