Need address change advice

This is somewhat off topic but perhaps some of you can give me some feedback in regards to the address change procedures:

I received my green card approval last week and I'm scheduled to get my bio in two weeks. I'm hoping that the actual green card will be sent to me shortly after.

One good news deserves a bad one:

I discovered my boyfriend's been cheating on me. I haven't confronted him yet. I'm trying to figure out what the best time to do so, because he works from home and has access to the mail when it arrives. I'm thinking about getting a mail box at those postal centers (note: not PO boxes in post offices; the ones like mail box, etc.), then fill in an address change form with the post office, then notify immigration via their change form and a phone call.

I hate that this is all happening at a time when I'm supposed to be getting my green card soon, but I'm miserable now at home, having to put up a "face".

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry....

Sorry to hear that Ukulele I wish I could say something to cheer you up. If I was in your situation, I'll just put up with the situation until you get your card which should be soon. As soon as you get your GC put it in your bank vault and kiss your boyfriend good bye. Don't forget to moon him on your way out the door :) Ooops, you being a girl, mooning might be hard to do, I think flipping him a bird would do too :p ;) He'll get what he deserves....

Ukelele,

I am so sorry you have problems. If I were you I will confront your BF and then forgive him. Do it just for your GC. :p

I am not a Psychologist so act rationally

Ukulele:

Sorry to hear that.

If I were you, I would find a new place and move out. At the meantime, I'd call inform my new address to INS so that your GC would be sent to your new domain. of coz it's just me, I am not a forgivable kinda person.

Also, the address of good friends or trusted relatives would be a good alternatives of the Rental MailBoxes. I do Ebay a little bit, I heard lots bad guys use those mailboxes to commit fraud. Some Mailboxes are not so responsible nor secure.

Good luck

I will NOT advice an address change at this crucial moment. Whatever else is your personal business.

Ukelele, Just follow my advice and when you get your GC pack your things and let him a note saying: I forgave you just because I was waiting my GC. Now that I have it I do not need you anymore

thanks for the advices.

i've been thinking of getting my BIO early too. it's currently scheduled on sept. 16th. what should i say when i get there, to make them give it to me earlier? i'm sure they won't just let you do it if your notice says to come at a particular date, right?

My local SC has walk-inns every Wednesdays and Saturdays for people that can't make the original appoint date maybe you can check with your LSC... I would not change the address at this point if I were you ...good luck!

Just go there. I did mine without any question to ask. In case of questions, you can say you can't make that day for some reasons. Maybe there is a nice person for you. Good luck.

What crucial moment? Do not confuse people, please. If she decides to leave the cheater she should leave, find a new place and then send AR-11, Change of Address Form and simultaneously call the INS regarding her I-485 Application and change the address with them also.

We live in 21st century. They put a new address in the system (that is computers) and all is good. What crucial moment, please, be serious...

Do NOT change address!!!

Another "great" advice! Do you know what is the purpose of the AR-11 form? To advice the USCIS about your change of the address! If you change your address you let them now. People are changing their addresses all the time. People are allowed to change their addresses. And then, after they do, they inform the USCIS about the said change if they are required to inform them. Guys... what's wrong with you.

Nobody is confusing anybody... having been cheated from a boyfriend is something else and dealing with CIS is something else. Yes this is a "crucial" moment.... you hear me..... CIS is about to send a Green Card to her. Have you ever heard of G325A form?????..it asks for all your previous addresses. If she changes address now , first thing they are going to ask is to again submit this form. Plus if there is some mis-communication with CIS (wow that cannot happen in this 21st century.... right? ) then they will send her GC anyway... by this time she had broken up with him and you know what???? he would be smart enough to know by now that what importance GC has for her.... he might take her GC and never give that to her.... so even with this love affair point of view, it is wise for her to stay where she is at...

GOT IT?????????

Please, do not try to justify your baseless advice with another baseless argument. Previous addresses are exactly this, "previous" and if she is going to have a new one, it is going to be a part of her file and the GC would be sent to a new address. Unless already has been sent.

I couldn't care less about that guy and what he may or may not do to her GC; this is pure speculation and it makes no sense whatsoever.

She has a right to move. If she moves it is her duty to notify the USCIS with the form AR-11 and to call them. They'll update the address and that's it.

What you could really do, is notify your Town's Postmaster General of the adress change and fill "Adress Change Form" . The Post Office then would be obligated to forward all your mail to the new address.

Good Luck!

...all the mail coming from CIS can not be forwarded ..it has a "Returned Service Requested" stamp so it will go back to CIS...

Ukulele,

I am sorry to hear about your boyfriend and it's hard to find any words to comfort you in this situation. Keep your head clear (as much as possible) and don't let emotions to take over you, meaning: DON'T DO ANYTHING THAT MIGHT DELAY APPROVAL OF YOUR RESIDENCY. Your GC is coming, it is very close, changing of address at this CRITICAL moment MIGHT adversely affect your application. Set your priorities, and chose the GC over cheating m***** f*****. Meanwhile do something that will keep you occupied, like; go out with your friends. It helps. Life goes on, there is someone you'll meet sooner or later, but please DO NOT CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS AT THIS TIME. I don't want to comment on USCIS efficiency, but it can get messy. Once you have "the plastic" in your hands move on. I wish you the best and good luck. O, BTW I am single. :) :) :)

Based on fricking what you are stating such a rubish? Support your claims with official USICS documents, links, examples or close your pie hole.

So in a same manner you are hitting on her, here, on-line, showing that your moronic "advise" above comes from the same genial mind-set.
