I have not started for N-400 process yet, but i have a question about name check... Is the FBI checks names based on ethnicity, country of origin or any other reason ? Or how you obtain your green card?

Seems this name check process takes forever and people are stuck and can not do anything. I got my green card through lottery and so far i paid my taxes on time, always be a good resident. Can you enlighten me about this issue ? By the way i get my gc through lottery..

The name check process verifies your name against multiple government databases. If your name or similar name appears as a reference (called a "hit") in one of those databases, then further investigation must be done, sometimes manual which takes more time. It's almost impossible to determine if you will get stuck in name check, but applicants who do get stuck account for a very small percentage of overall applications.
On the bright side, the delays in name checks have slowly decreased since USICS announced a joint FBI process improvement a few months ago.
