Name Check Process Changes

I just read that anyone whose name checking has taken more than 180 days will be cleared for N485... Are they planning to do the same for N400 (citizenship) applications? I had applied for citizenship on 10/06 and still waiting for the interview... :mad:

Hey GhantaBro -

Can you please post the link(s) on which you found that information? I know there was 'rumor' of such a thing around Nov/Dec of last year, but nothing came of it.

Thanks Bobsmyth for posting the link. Interesting memo to say the least. However, this doesn't change the n-400 process, and I can't say that I am surprised.

The memo indicates it is exceedingly difficult to denaturalize a citizen and this is the central argument for USCIS to keep the namecheck process unchanged for N400 applications.

Yes - I got that part. I was just letting the original poster that he/she should not expect any changes in regards to N-400 and the name check process. Hence - my comment about not being surprised.

THanks for the response guys... We can only hope that this will give them ample time to work on N400 cases as there will be lesser N485 cases for name check.

I posted something directly to you a little bit ago in another thread. What I would start doing is writing the sentators, the governor and so on. I thought my Timeline was outragious and I applied a month prior to you. 09-25-2006 to be exact. Let me know if you need help !
