name check found pending from senator

All

Can someone post the details of how we can check if I485 application is stuck with Name check? I got my FP done in Dec 2005 and no further updates. I140 was approved two weeks back and my PD is current.

Thanks for sharing this document. It's very helpful. It's kind of making me calm down after 1 year of waiting for background check. I also got reply from senator boxer that they can do nothing about it.

It says about 153,166 pending, out of which 65% pending for more than 6 months and about 35% more than 1 year.

Actually my RD date is same as yours. I did contact Senator Fienstein's office and got a reply after 3 months that name check pending since April 2005.
The senators office was like 1 year is not a very long wait and I should not get hassled too much.

Not sure what else can we do? What I am wanting to know is has the name check been run on my name and it is stuck because of hits or my turn itself has not come. They can mean a world of difference in terms of time it will take.

name check complete

Hi all
I got a letter from Senator that my name check was complete on July 6th.
I am hoping that there are no more road blocks.

Any ideas on if I need to do any thing like calling USCIS to tell them about this ?

I had actually raised a enquiry with USCIS before i got the letter from Senator.
Yesterday USCIS got back on my old enquiry saying that my name check is pending.

I responded back and so did my attorney with a copy of the Senators letter yesterday itself saying as per FBI thats complete.

Today I see a LUD (without message change) on both mine and spouse 485s. Not sure if the LUD is in response to my enquiries or is it that they have recd ny name check completions from FBI now.

Keeping my fingers crossed.!!

btw where do I call, if i call customer service they refuse to say anything except saying they will raise enquiry.

Do advice.

I really wonder why cannt USCIS update the message when say the name check is completed. Like they do for finger printing..it would make sense

But USCIS has their own way!!!!

I agree. There is not much visibility into our cases pending at USCIS. Even after FP is completed the message doesn't change. I did my FP on Jun 16 2006 and had LUDs on Jun 16 and 17 but the message remained the same. In my opinion the online status check is a lousy system because it always leaves us guessing what might be happening.

I really believe that you will get good news in a day or two. It is again a guess based upon long time reading of this portal.

I confirmed with my Senator today that my name check was indeed recieved by CSC on 25th July. That means the LUD on 25th was for name check entered into the system. The same LUD was there on my spouse 485 as well.

Lets see what happens next. Got to sit tight and wait.

No news from USCIS after I confirmed that name check was cleared and updated on 25th July. My fingerprints have expried as well now.

scheduled an infopass appointment to meet an officer at san jose..any one with experiences. Hoping that this ordeal can end soon.

These cases will be assigned to an officer for review and final
adjudication. Please allow at least 30 to 45 days for this process.
You may receive notification about the cases within this period. Thank
you.

the status message changed to
On August 10, 2006, we responded to your request for more information concerning
your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date,
please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.



Problem is my fingerprints have expired!!! I guess i will wait for new fingerprints.

How did you inquire about your case status?.Was it by sending an email to CSC or was it through the general 1-800 number???

USCIS informed me that my case is undergoing additional security checks; 15 months ago, I received the same status!

Is this additional security check part of name check or is it "additional" to that? Is there anybody else who is also stuck with this?

There are lots of people on this forum stuck in name check(or security checks or back ground checks..all the same). Unfortunately it is a serious bottleneck and no one in adminstration is worried about it. Got to wait and wathc..but i stronly suggest senator/congress man help ..no harm trying.

More than that I think if your PD is current, FBI seems to clear NC faster.

thats what I was also thinking all these days. you just said it. how come FBI know anything about current or retrogressed ? very strange indeed. what a chain, DOL just clears what DOS wants and FBI clears just what dos wants ?

also, i am trying to establish a pattern between the length and diffrent places a person lives in the us and time take for NC, for me it appears like the more you move across the country and the longer you live in us, the more the time it takes to clear background check? does anyone know.
