N400 pending - weird answer from 2nd level IO

Hi guys,

my N400 has been pending with NYC DO for 3 month now, haven't been placed in the Q for interview yet.

Called 800# many times and today got a new weird info.

The officer said that my name check has been completed and not pending with FBI.

BUT she said it looks like there is a problem with my fingerprints, like they are not very readable or smth like that. Told me to wait for further communication from them - of course.

The thing is that I called FBI customer service back in April and they told me that my prints were readable and results were sent back to USCIS next day. Also I have never received a 2nd FP notice to redo the prints.

So the question is, what is wrong with those prints and where else do they get sent? Meaning what is causing the delay?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have read a few posts of people who's prints are unreadable,, usually they ask you to go in a second time to try again.

hth ;-)

and if the 2nd prints are also unreadable then you will need to get a cleared police report from your district

Guys,
FBI said my prints were readable and they sent results back to USCIS in April.
And I never got a 2nd FP letter.
That's why I'm wondering what does that mean, that there is something wrong with my fringer prints as per this IO.

Take infopass and visit NYC Local office.

Another shock in my life!

Just called FBI again to make sure, and they told me my print were rejected!!!
And when I called in April they said they were OK and readable and results sent back to USCIS.

Ok now, how to I request 2nd FP letter???

Still can't get over this!

Just came back from my infopass appointment - total waste of time.
IO even didn't try to be helpful, basically told me - what do you want, it has been 3 months only. She said they can't do anything, it's NBC jurisdiction and I should contact them by mail about my 2nd FP.

I thought about doing this, but odds are not in my favor.
The letter is dated April 10, 2009 and it has a stamp of April 15, 2009 when my prints were taken 1st time.

Why don't you try a walk-in? take you letter and ask to be fingerprinted again.....

Well, some begging and embarrasement.. but I don't mind

The only thing - how do I prove my prints failed??? It's just me saying that...

I've opened a service request and sent them a letter, let's see what happens.

By any chance, does anybody know where to find a telephone number for ASC Manhattan? I spent half a day browsing the web and couldn't find a thing.

ASC - Manhattan, NY.
The address is: USCIS Application Support Center 201 West Houston Street Room #1023 New York, NY 10014-7055.

Seriously. I doubt you'll walkin for another FP if the previous one wasn't rejected. Plus they might see the rejection in the system. Try dude!
