My 1st application that was filed in June 2008 was rejected due to payment problems with my personal check.
I paid with a cashier's check, but did not make the 14 days, so my app was rejected in Aug 2008. :( However, I got as far as doing the fingerprinting.
I called USCIS today, and was told that I was scheduled for an interview, but was removed...because of this payment problem, most likely, and the fact that they closed the file.

Anyways, I went ahead and filed a 2nd app with a cashier's check.
They received my N400 application on 10/1/08, cashier's check was cleared and
cashed on 10/2/08.
Today, 10/10/08, I called USCIS, and was able to get a receipt# for this 2nd app over the phone.
I told them I haven't received the I-797C yet, and he said that it was probably too soon.
But just the fact that there was a receipt# for the 2nd app is good news. :)

My question now is, since I already did the fingerprinting just 3 months ago,
would they ask for another fingerprinting again??? Hopefully, the next notice
I get would be interview already.

what problems did you have with your personal check. Do you mean to say it is better to use cashiers check rather than personal check?
