N-600K regularly reside abroad?

We are US citizens living abroad, and have recently adopted a child. We plan on waiting here to fulfill the two-year legal custody requirement before filing an N-600K, but we also want to travel to the U.S. on her B2 tourist visa. How much time can we spend during these two years in the U.S. so as to still qualify that we regularly reside abroad (requirement of the N-600K)?
 
Neither of you fulfills the 5 years of physical presence in the US?
