N-600K question

Folks,

I have a question on N-600K that I plan to apply for my son. I relocated to India in Sept 2010.

Part 4 / section G - Provide the dates the U.S. citizen father or mother resided in or was physically present in the United States. If you need more space, use a separate sheet of paper.

I have lived in the US from Apr 2000 to Sept 2010 (naturalized in May 2010) and have made a number of short trips (1 day to 30 days) outside the US for business reasons and personal vacation. In other words, I was a resident of the US from Apr 2000 to Sept 2010.

Are they expecting me to detail out the exact days during the last 10 years that I was present in the US or can I just say From: Apr 2000 To: Sept 2010

Please reply ASAP.

my son is 11 years. He was born before I naturalized. But since, we have all relocated to India, USCIS advised that I should file n-600K and not N-600.

Guess you should not go for N600K since it is meant for children born to already US citizens. Your son has already got US passport and is a citizen of US thru article 320 related to child citizenship. You may want speak to nearest consulate or consult an attorney in US.

Manishvora,

This issue has come up alot in other posts and I have read up on it. HOWEVER, ask your lawyer---that's my disclaimer.

The N-600K is not for your son because it explicitly excludes kids who qualified for automatic citizenship under sec. 320. Presuming that your son lived with you in the U.S and had a greencard when you naturalized, he would have become a USC when you did (unless he got it from his mom before you naturalized).

You cannot file an N-600 from abroad and the FS-240 Consular Report is only for children born abroad claimng citizenship from birth. Since you departed the U.S. before getting him a Certificate of Citizenship, all he can get from abroad is a Passport. He would need to move back to U.S. to file an N-600 otherwise you'll just have to keep renewing his passport for the time being.

If the child had a GC and was living with you when you naturalized he is already a US citizen, just go and apply for his US Passport at the nearest US Embassy.

I got 13 years son (Born in Turkey and lives with me in Turkey).
I got my US Citizenship via Naturalization after my son born..
Decided to fill out N600-K for him.(you can see from attachment).
There are plany informations but I'm still confused (and also form says contact with nearest consulate)..
1)Where and to whom I will make $600 payment for this N600-k form? (Adress info,etc..?)..If I need to make payment to which address?
2)How I will make this $600 payment to from Turkey ? (I'm currently residing in Turkey)..
Your answers will be highly appreciated.
Kindest regards.

Until USCIS publishes its planned changes to a lockbox, the current form instructions say to file it at any USCIS Office INSIDE the U.S. (including possessions). have you got family or friends where you will stay when you bring your child to the U.S. for the required interview? That should guide your choice of USCIS Office to file at. Send a check or money order payable in U.S. Funds.

Did your son not immigrate with you, he never had a greencard, and was not living with you when you naturalized?
