I am out of US at present due to illness. I have completed 34 months in US. I get a first shot at filing for US citizenship in March 2009 (after 4 years 9 months) .
My company is ready to sponsor N 470 for me to preserve the GC status for citizenship. I had the following questions. My company is a $2 billion US based multinational in networking.
a) Can the company file N 470 / am I eligible (most probably the answer is yes but I may have missed out on something)
b) Do I have to be in US for filing of N 470
c) Do I have to be in US during the time N 470 is being approved
d) How much time does it take for N 470 to be approved

a. As long as you are getting pay check from US firm, you should not have any problem filling for N-470
b. You do not have to be in US for file N-470 but you must file it before you have been bsent for a continuous period f one year

c. You do not need to be here for it to be processed
d. According to some post it's between 8 to 12 month and according to some they never received any response from USIS.

I am apply for N-470 next week as my emplyer wanted me to relocate to it's dubai office at the end of this month.

What happens if the employee leaves the employer sponsoring N 470

Am wondering what happens in a situation when an employee leaves the employer midway during the duration of N 470 or if the employer terminates the employee
 
N-470 is specific to an employer. I guess in case of termination (either way) you will need to file a new and time will be counted untill the day you or employer terminated.

Will you be a local candidate of your US firm? I mean will you be getting pay from a local office where you relocating or it will be the US payroll that will administer your paycheck?
 
Remember you also need to be physically present in the US for one uninterrupted year (zero absences) at some point after getting the green card approved and before applying for the N-470.

I am a dual citizen of Pakistan and Canada and would like to know if I need to delcare that on N-470 in feild of "Country of Citizenship". It only says contry and not countries but I will be using both passport.

Secondly, Do I need to attach copies of my wife's I-551 and passport as well.
 
So now I am told that my employer will not pay me in USD. It will be in currency of the country where I will be posted. I looked over the form N470 and could not find any place where it specifically requires the applicant to be reimbursed in USD.
Does anyone have any successful filing / acceptance of N 470 with the salary in a currency different than USD?
 
I would advise you to mention the citizenship that you will use in the country to where you are relocating.

That in itself shouldn't be a problem, however there are other challenges associated with an N-470 (such as the requirement for 1yr uninterrupted presence in the US). Check with a lawyer thats done this before.
