Hi bothers & sisters,

I am originally from China.

I filed my N-400 at the same date as My wife did in May of 2006.

My wife both did Fingerprint in May of 2006.

My wife got her cictizenship already for one year.

My case is still pending.

Except finger print I did in 2006 , I nerver got any interview noitce or any other info via letter since then.

Went to uscis VA office twice, wrote letter to my congressman's offce once.

Got same reply: Under background checking.

What should I do?

Do I need re-file my n-400 or re-do my finger print?

Terrible experrience....

Thanks for your any advice

Henry

My advice, go through the thousands of posts on this forum, and you will become a wise man as far as naturalization goes:)

That said read the forum on WOM, time you did some learning and filed a suit on your own.

Many options for you

Hi,

You can write to
1. senator
2. Congressman
3. First lady
4. USCIS ombudsman's office
5. FBI
6. USCIS

Last resort is WOM(writ of mandamus) which worked for some people.
It costs around $2500?(Experts please correct me here if I am wrong).

I think WOM works well, I am not sure about other options.(although no downside trying it).

Regards

For how long you have to wait so you can file WOM?

I think 1.5-2 years

Hi,

I am not sure but I think I read somewhere 18 months is a sifficent time. also WOM is last resort i.e you should be able to convince the judge that you have exhaused all other possibilities and this is the last avenue left to you to get things moving. (Experts please comment!)

Regards

You can file WOM without going through the Interview ?

Before interview you can file WOM if it's been at least 12-16 months since your PR. After interview, you can file 1447(b) if you don't get oath date within 120 of interview.

However, since USICS has announced processing can take 16-18 months , you may now have to wait even longer before you can file WOM (ie minumum 18 months).
