N-400 Spouse Section

Hi,

My wife and I have been separated but not legally divorced yet. On the application itself stated I need to fill in the information from my wife's side, how do I obtain this information if I am not in contact with her(for years). Do I leave that section open?

Additional Information...

This wasn't a marriage with a US citizen, both my wife and I are in the same situation. We have been here since 13 years ago. As for taxes, we didn't file together yet it's filed as jointly.

Thank you very much for all your help!

Fill in the information to the best of your knowledge. You should have most of the information in your tax return copies if you filed taxes together. You should probably invest in an attorney if your green card was based on marriage to a US citizen.

That doesn't make sense. If you file taxes jointly, both spouses are supposed to see and sign the return. Did you simply put your spouse's income as zero on the "joint" return because you're separated and don't know what her income is?

If you don't know where she lives, write n/a or unknown for her address on application.
