N-400 picture

hey,

The application is requesting for two passport-style photos. Therefore, I went to the post office yesterday and the picture has been taken. Nevertheless, there are small shadows behind my ears and I am not sure if that would pass.


Where did you guys have your picture taken?

would that delay the process if they reject the pictures? What place would you recommend to go to have a picture taken?

No it won't delay the application since you have a chance to bring 2 back up photos at interview in case originals fail. I've taken my own passport pictures with a digitial camera and white background, and Walmart processing and never had any issues..total cost to me: $1.25 instead of typical $8-10 fee studios charge.

As long as your face is clearly visible, they will not have any issues with the pictures. The IO who interviewed me was not at all concerned with the appearance of the picture, as long as it was a head shot facing the camera head on. I had my pictures taken at a local photo studio, so they already had a proper background set up just for passport photos. The photographer also used a professional Nikon camera, not a pocket camera that they use at the local drug store.
