hi all,

can we move to india as soon as we file our N-400 application or we have to wait until we get US Citizenship approved? is it mandatory to be in the US while N-400 is pending? will it affect our application if we are abroad?

You need to reside primarily in the US until you complete the entire process including the oath. Short trips abroad are OK, but you should not spend so much time abroad that it looks like you're living outside the US.

You can move to India after you file, but it will result in your application being denied for breaking continuous residence.

Short Trips will be no problem

Taking short trips out of the US will not affect your N-400. Planning to stay out of the US for long time after filing N-400 will affect the continuous residence criteria and jeopardize your naturalization.
