Dear all, I was robed on gun point in 2008 and guy took my bag I lost almost my documents and passport which have most enty/exit record, I made report but original report kept by consulate for issuance of new passport, now I had my new passport almost blank, I need advised what to do as I have no evidence to prove my enty exit in US but before this insidence I filled N-400 form (as practice) and all arr/dep record entered in it so I have correct dates but to prove nothing.....PLZ need your valuable adv.....thanks.....XMAN

You didn't make a copy of the police report before you sent it to the consulate? If you have a copy, bring it. Otherwise, you should be able to obtain a copy from the police precinct where the original was filed.

Even I got the copy of report and the question still their... How I can prove my traveling and stay in US......?

You don't need the old passport to prove that, and the old passport is not a requirement for the interview. USCIS has your travel history in their records. Looking through the passport is just a secondary check in case USCIS doesn't have some records of your travel (in particular, they sometimes don't have your exit date, so they look for entry stamps to other countries). Bring the copy of the police report and you'll be fine.

Jackolantern's advice is correct.

xman2000, you really need to calm down and stop panicking, your situation is fine.

You are not required to bring an old passport to the interview and most likely the IO will not ask for it. USCIS has its own records related to your travel and I think that in most cases they accept the travel info provided by the applicants in their N-400 applications on faith. E.g. during my interview the IO did not check any of the travel stamps in my current passport and did not ask to see my previous passport, even though I had a lot of trips listed on my application. I think this was a fairly typical situation.

I would suggest that you don't volunteer any information about your old passport unless the IO specifically asks about it.

By the way, some countries' consulates take away the old passport when they issue a new one.
Moreover, there is no legal requirement for U.S. permanent residents to maintain a valid foreign passport or to have a foreign passport at all; the main thing is to have a valid green card.

What part of "you don't need to bring a passport to interview" are you confused about? A passport is not a requirement for naturalization eligibility.
