I am a permanent resident of US since april 2004. I moved to India for good in october 2008. I was working for a company in US until oct 2008 . After I moved to India, I am still working for the same US company but as an independent contractor from India. I will be going to US in April to apply for US citizenship. Can I mention in N-400 form that I am currently working for the US company but as an independent contractor from India?

You need to review Chapter 4 of A Guide to Naturalization. There is a table on Pages 18 and 19 that shows you the basic compliance requirements for anyone applying on the basis of a 5-year LPR.

Assuming that you will be able to comply with the "Continuous Residence" and "Physical Presence" tests, then you will have to meet the "3-month USCIS District residency" requirement.

Mentioning that you live and work in India (e.g., "I moved to India for good") will only provide evidence to USCIS that you have abandoned US residency. The fact that you work for a US company is most likely not relevant.

If you moved for good to India in October 2008, you will likely be found to have broken the continuous residence requirement when you apply in April. I assume your intention was to return to India after you apply and return to US for the FP ,interview, and oath?

I moved to India for good in october 2008.
If it is a permanent move then why do you want US citizenship? You will be putting yourself in the position of having to file and pay taxes to the US government for ever.

However, as others have said, it may be a moot point anyway since, by your own admission, you have abandoned your permanent residency and any claim to citizenship. If the IO gets a whiff of this then you will be denied.

You will be eligible if you complied with the following
1)"Continuous Residence"
2)"Physical Presence" tests
3)"3-month USCIS District residency" requirement
4)Filed taxes all 5 years

5)Also in your application there is question which asks
List the address you have lived in the past 5 years with dates.
Listing a foreign address here will definitely rise eyebrows. Maintaining a local US address in important even when you are travelling, which implies that you have not abandoned your permanent residency. The Adjudicating officers give lot of importance to this aspect as well.
