Hi every one I hope I can find some answers for my concerns (SITUATION) about my N 400 I applied on Feb 14 2012 got finger printed fours weeks later, amonth later I received the letter indicating that I am in line for interview but since that I did not get anything from the USCIS, I contacted them more than 5 times and I made three info passes and no one gave me the answers, nothing came out from all these attempts they take my information promise to contact me but no one did, my question is i notice people in different topics are worried about taking too long but it is taking me longer? have anyone went through what i am going through, I am thinking to hire an attorney but at this time money is tight and I am between jobs, so what do you advise me to do it has been more than 7.5 months since my application was processed. so any advice??? you have no idea how much this issue is taking a toll on my entire life.

What have you been told at infopass? What's your DO and their average processing time? That does seem unusually long... I don't think an attorney would be of any benefit unless there's something about your case that's complicated.
The front desk lady said that they are still processing it she took my information like case number , address, phone number and promised that some one will contact me, and one more thing and I am quoting her " we are (as immigrant ) are always in rush and wanting the citizenship" like I did not earn it, anyway my case is exactly like my wife and she was done in the average time which is five months according to the USCIS web site. The field office have an unfriendly staff so I am tired of going every month to their office and it seem I am not gaining anything from my visits there.

It's time to start contacting your elected officials, as well as the USCIS ombudsman. For some unexplained reason, your case seems to be stuck. The only explanation that I can come up with is that it's stuck in name check, but this situation rarely occurs nowadays. An inquiry from the office of your elected official (congressman, senator, etc.) usually gets a more detailed response than "it's still in processing, so sit down and be patient".
