You can re-apply at any time.

Did you receive the original application back at all?

Did you receive the original application back at all?

When an applicant withdraws an application (any application) with USCIS, the physical application does not get sent back to the applicant.

Essentially the only time the actual application is physically returned to the applicant, if it is submitted with missing payment or a missing signature. In such cases the application is rejected almost immediately upon submission (rather than withdrawn by an applicant).

Can I ask you a question? I submitted my application a few weeks ago, but I attached some unnecessary documents, which I worry might delay the process or cause questions. If I withdraw my application right now, do you think I can get the original application back and resubmit with a much more cleaner package?
Your input is greatly appreciated.

Providing more documents than required is not going to delay your application and is not going to cause problems. Upon receipt, an N-400 application is quickly checked for basic completeness (mainly to see if the payment, signature and photos are enclosed). After that, the application is not looked at again in detail until the interview. There is no need for you to withdraw the application, IMO.

You can reapply as soon as you are eligible. Did they cash in your original check?
