My N400 application has not been resolved since 2003. I wish to obtain status as to its closure or the next steps to be taken. I submitted the application in January 2003 (it was received by the USCIS on January 15th 2003, acknowledged via a letter giving a application #). I had my fingerprinting done in May 2003 and subsequently had an interview including the English and civic portions on October 29th, 2003. At the interview I was asked to submit proof that I had lived in the US for 5 years preceding my application date of Jan 15th, 2003. I submitted the necessary proof consisting of tax returns and letters of continued employment from my employers on Oct 30th, 2003.
Since May 2003, I have been involved in activities on behalf of my employer which have necessitated in me traveling out of the country (specifically to India for outsourcing purposes) for extended periods of time. I have been filing my US income taxes regularly I also did apply for and obtain a reentry permit which was submitted to the INS officer upon entry into the United States.
How can I find out what the status of my application is?
