Hope someone can help, I mailed my n-400 express mail via USPS.

Their on line tracking states the following:

Class: Express Mail®
Status: Notice Left

We attempted to deliver your item at 11:00 AM on May 29, 2009 in LEWISVILLE, TX 75029 and a notice was left. You may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice, go to www.usps.com/redelivery, or call 800-ASK-USPS to arrange for redelivery. If this item is unclaimed after five days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

I used the correct address for express delivery as per the latest N400 instructions. I'm surprised they could not deliver, not sure what I should do now, just wait or any suggestions.

Thanks.

Had the same issue, the status on USPS website would not update for more than 48 hours. Then it turned out the application was delivered the same day it arrived, just a few hours later.

Delivered to different zip

Hi,

I sent the N400 packet via USPS Priority Mail to -

USCIS
P.O. Box 299026
Lewisville, TX 75029

However the USPS site says it was deliverd to

Lewisville, TX 75067

The delivery zip code (75067) is different than what I put on the envelope (75029).

I noticed USCIS has another address for express/courier deliveries which has a zip code of 75067:

USCIS
Attn: N-400
2501 S State Hwy 121, Bldg. #4
Lewisville, TX 75067

Is this normal? Does it happen to any one else?

I hope the application was delivered to USCIS.

I sent my N-400 application to Phoenix LockBox facility and as per the status on the USPS website it says "Your item arrived at the PHOENIX, AZ 85036 processing center at 10:35 AM on May 28, 2009 and is ready for pickup". But so far (more than 24 hours have passed) no one from USCIS seems to have picked up the package. Is this delay normal?

Thanks!!

Yes,give it another few days to show correct status..it's normal.

just checked the on line tracking again and sure enough, (as you all mentioned) it was delivered a few hours later after the first notice was left by USPS.

So anyone in the same boat, don't worry so quickly like I did!

Thanks!

From my experience with USPS, their online tracking lags a lot. Rarely, their tracking does not even update to indicate the fact that it was ever delivered.

I have sent my package on 27th (Wednesday) by certified mail, but their online status says that there is no record available with my receipt/label number.

Since the online status of USPS is not reliable, is there a contact phone number of USCIS to find out if the application has been received by USCIS or not? How long should one wait before contacting USCIS with regard to whether USCIS has received the N-400 application or not ?

I have called the 1-800-222-1811 number. Even the operator could not tell where my package was. She has created an incident and gave the confirmation number. You can get the customer service number and other details at:

You guys are panicking for no reason. A typical USCIS location receives over 1000 N-400 applications per day and it is not as if there is a postman delivering all those packages to one person who signs for each of them. The post office has arrangements to deliver large quantities of mail to one address that do not follow the usual delivery process. Wait for a few days and all your applications will be delivered and you will get your receipt notices in the mail in 1-3 weeks.

I called USPS today and since my online status shows "Arrival at Pickup-Point. Ready for Pickup", the customer service representative told me that no one from USCIS has come to pickup the package.

Is it possible that someone from USCIS actually picked up the package but did not sign when the package was received?

This message (and others similar to it) has been reported before on this forum. It reflects the rather inefficient tracking system of USPS. Do not worry, the status should change to delivered in a few days.

Just found out from bank's website that my check has been cashed by USCIS even though USPS website is still showing the status as "Available for pick-up".

USPS tracking system is really unreliable !!!

USPS tracking is as reliable as USCIS online message. So go figure. After all USPS is also another Govt agency.

My N400 priority mail took 4 days to travel a 4 mile distance :confused:

(I live about 7 miles from the Lewisville TX lockbox location)
