I have a question about my n-336 hearing.

i applied for my us citzenship and had my fingerprints, interview and the whole thing only to be denied for citzenship because i was on probation for a year for an OWI (first offense).

I got discharged on december 1st and have a hearing on dec 8.

My question is that what are my chances of getting my citzenship after the hearing if i provide them with document that shows that i have been discharged.

And should i take a lawyer with me or not?

Thank you to all who reply back!

You might have a chance to be approved if they are willing to accept the evidence after the fact, or they can simply deny the appeal on the grounds that at the time of your interview you lacked GMC for not having completed probation. The ironic thing is that you would have been better off delaying your interview until after Dec 1 in order to avoid being denied. Simple going to the hearing without anything but the discharge letter decreases your chances for an approval. Either go with a lawyer or present a letter that you are otherwise a good citizen with strong community ties.
