Landed in USA Dec 24, 1997
Found a job in Miami in April 1998
H-1B Quota Reached
Attorney submitted H-1B application for next “fiscal” year
A few months later, Texas INS “rejected” application by mistake saying that quota was already met
Resent Application – H-1B approved in September 1998
I-140 RD Nov 2000 RIR
Priority Date Nov 13, 2000
Approval Date May 2001
Guess What – Notice was lost in mail
Eventually it went back to US Department of Labor as undeliverable
I-485 finally filed in June 2001 with Texas
Attorney advised against Consular Processing
Attorney decided against filling at California Service Center even though company headquarters is in California (Yeah what can I say)

RFE Jan 22, 2004 Employment Letter (Changed jobs/State never informed INS)

Now waiting for the approval letter.
