My RFI

Free,

You have to submit original RTD ONLY IF your RTD is still valid.

But given the number of requests for RTD and passport and length of wait, (yes, my another cousin gave them everything, but his case is pending ever since, while my cousin got his approval recently with ND 2001.) I just don't think it is worth trying. Going to UK, Germany shouldn't be a problem, but to Lebanon while you are Syrian asylee? particularly the visa is not coming from the country you listed in your RTD application. It certainly triggers some questions. Free, you know what "you" is not referring to you, right? I want no enemies from this forum.....

of course not Windy..I beleive you :) Please...MK can vouch for me! :)

this make me laugh. guys what r u talking about. IO who interviewed me for asylum didn't have any idea what my country is and where it's located. Please do not expect IO to know that there is a Lebanon exist somewhere and it is actually located close to Syria. Wait what is Syria? :). Clerk at the City Hall asks me how to spell librarian and you expect them to know the geographical locations of countries and relations between them?

Oh God

OK, not sure where to start...

Anyway, one of the countries I visited is next door to my own. THis is because it is the last country in the world that does not require a visa for my poor parents. Since then, I had tried so hard to meet them in a third country, but either my RTD did not come on time, or they could not get a visa, or their car was stolen, or...this year, my father, only 65 years old got diagnosed with a vicious cancer. I cannot tell you how attached I am to him and how much I have thought if I had made the right decision leaving my country and seeking asylum. (Well, one of the reasons I sought asylum is that my father is one of the few honest men left int hat country, and he was very anti-government, but once again, I see no reward for my family being honest and standing up against bullshit and tirany)

Oh well, I guess that is life....well I had a couple of glasses of wine in a good restaurant tonite, with a girlfriend. Very non-asylee, but what can I do? I am a hedonist, even if a stateless one.

Ayyubov, the IO who interviewed me also didnt seem to know or recognize my country's name too and it was not until 5 minutes before the 2 hour interview was finally over, it was revealed that he not only knew the country but he knew the language, as well as the customs, as well as the music and the musicians. Yes it was a shock not only to me but my lawyer also!!
So dont let them fool you.

That is absolutely right, man. I heard they use this type of thing to disguise asylum applicants, so that the applicants will feel free to talk to their attorney using their own language....

Anything from you, free?

Nothing yet Windy. The first thing I do when I arrive at work is to check my emails and the USCIS website. Next I open this forum to read the new gossip columns! :D

I am better positioned than you. I setup my email client to check my email every 5 minutes and asked my neighbor to check my mailbox every early afternoon. :D

Let us know the good news.

There is nothing wrong when asylee visit neighbor countries. There is no law or rule prohibiting it. They can be suspicious as much as they want. As long as we keep all the records of travel everything should be fine.

I personally not afraid to travel and will do all the time. I know that I'm not breaking the law by traveling since it's one of the benefits provided by US Government to asylees.

I need to jump in for a bit. I remember a jerk on my interview who knew everything about my country. He even studied there! And even though that I could show bullet wounds he denied my case... so I had to go to IJ who was descent guy... and granted me 'a relief'.

Thanks for the confirmation SD. Yes they have complete knowledge. I forgot to mention that my interviewer had also lived in the area for 3 years. Personally I think his awareness about the circumstances actually were helpful in getting my asylum approved.

Guys,

Good to see smooth sailing, I just noticed something interesting. Service Center processing date changed from 12-18-1999 to 12-31-1999!
