My name check CLEARED!!!!

Hi all,

GOOD NEWS.
I just got a letter by mail from my area's Congressman office that my name check is cleared on 10/10/2007.

This is after 2.5 months of going to the congressman's local office and talking to a representative of his office for my case.

BUT.. I missed the July boat of being PD current.

I will be taking IO's appointment next week to double check as the letter also mentions that FBI already sent the results of my name check to USCIS on 10.10.2007. My name check was requrested by USCIS On 10/17/2005. Congressman's letter also mentioned that date and that's the same date the IO had told me in personal appointment at local immigration office.

I am VERY HAPPY. Atleast moved one step closer!!!
 
excellent. Mine also got cleared this week, 10/11. I called TSC and they confirmed the same. Hope we are on the final leg :)
 
Did you know your cogressman contact FBI to expide your Name Check or they contact
the local immigration office. Because the email reply I got from the congressman's office implied they get information from local immigration office which obviously has no use.

When I went to the congressman's office the first time, I was asked to fill up a form detailing my case details. They had told me that they will inquire with FBI since its' FBI problem. They had said, generally they receive feedback from FBI in 30 days and when that happens they will call me.

So, when I did not get their call, I had called the lady at congressman's office that was handling handling my case. She spoke to me and had told me they had not heard any thing from FBI and will call me when they do so.

I may have a message from them in my office audix. Today I got a letter from the congressman's office on his letter head saying following:

"Dear _________,

I rerecently received a reply from the FBI in response to my inquiry on your behalf.

I have been informed that a review of the FBI's name check program data base reveals that a request for a name check was received from the USCIS on 10/10/2005. The submission was processed and finalized on 10/10/2007. Consequently, the results were forwarded to the USCIS headquarters in Washington, DC.

I trust that this response is to your satisfaction. If you should require, further assistance, please feel free to contact my ____ office.

Thank you for the information, hopefully your PD will be current soon, I also see cases got approved with PD not current, so there is still light ahead. Good Luck!
 
I received the response from FbI says my NC is processed but when i called IO ,they said they still waiting a response from FBI and NC is struck.how do i show this response letter to them(USCIS)Please help

Congrats greatgc, I got the same written reply from my congressman for my spouse namecheck.

Hi All,
My N.C is also pending since 11/2005. Other than contacting local congressmen, can we contact FBI directly? If we can, can you pleas post the link or information?

Yes you can send mails to the FBI. You can find the address on this immigration portal.
You should do it but do not put much hope in it.
If your NC is pending since 2005, it will probably get approved soon. Looks like the FBI is working on trying to approve the old ones.
 
What happens after NC completed

Hi,

I am not sure how the USCIS works for 485 processing.

I think they collect the application fees, ask for biometrics, and then the file sits on shelf until NC cleared.

Question is do the assign the case to the IO AFTER the NC is clear?

OR Do the assing the case to IO ONLY if NC IS Cleare **AND** the PD is current too?

OR
Do the first request the visa no. for the case and THEN assign the case to the IO??

Looks like USCIS is pattern of work is really "rocket science" ;-)..
