No lawyer required, although a lawyer may be helpful if you have certain complexities like a criminal record. Bringing your wife is optional.

Hi Speedy,

I'm in sort of the same situation as you. I had my interview on Dec. 15 in Charlotte and I passed the interview but I had to wait till Dec. 20 to meet 5 year requirement.

I was wondering have you received your oath letter yet?

I was thinking I am only person left in the entire NC who is left out there waiting for the dear old OL :D:) . Apparently not. Anyways, welcome to the AWOL (awaiting oath letter) club partner:D:D

Thanks,

Here is my interview experience in Charlotte, DO today at 8.30am
==========================================================

asked me to raise the right hand and swore me in after we entered his office.

Cheers,
speedy

Question - so what exactly are we expected to say when they swore in? Is it "I do", "Yes", "I agree" or.......

Thanks much!

I think "I do" is not entirely appropriate since you say that when you get married to USCIS in a church. Here, with the naturalization process you are really getting "separated" from USCIS:D.

On a serious note....I would think anything civil "Yes" or "I agree" should be fine (I wouldn't say something like "Yeah Man", "You got it dude":D)

cheers,
speedy

Agree, and don't say anything like: "Yes I did", "Yes I've done", or "Yes I will do" :D
