My I94 ??? and the confusion it created at the SS office

Hi guys,
I hope you're all doing good.
Here's my question. I got my EAD and this morning I went to apply for a SS. In the end everything was fine, but the woman at the office who processed my application showed me something (which I noticed before, but didn't really give it much thought) The I94 has no number? is this normal? And also my A number is not on it. Is this normal? I did not detach it from the approval letter, so she verified my A number from the approval letter. She advised me to call my lawyer (like I have nothing better to do... some of you might know he's not my favorite person) or to call the immigration in order to straighten this thing up (another thing I wouldn't do if not absolutely necessary, because I don't want them to open the file again and go through it again... I have reasons :eek:)
So, what would you say? Does your I94s all have numbers?
Is it just that I'm so damn lucky and got a funky one? what are the odds, right? Maybe I should play the lottery?
Please share your opinion.
or just take a quick look at your I94 and tell me whether they have numbers, and A numbers, and whatever else

wow... I like your style in writing, I guess this is the effect of USCIS and your lovely lawyer.

I'm so sorry to tell you that I asked 3 of my friends to take a look at their asylum I-94, all have BOTH numbers...

please forgive me... lol... the suffering will start again.
 
I'm kinda disappointed that you completely forgot my issue :D I had the same situation a couple months back. My approval notice didn't have an I-94 number either and I made several calls in various different places, all in vein. It was my dad who noticed "please detach the old I-94" or something along the lines...written on it.

Also, I-94 number isn't significant at all. All they need is A number and the approval notice. Bear in mind that you have two A numbers. The A number on your EAD card and the approval notice are the same and it is the permanent one. I had two numbers. The first one was a random, computer generated number. The second one was a permanent one. When I applied for an unrestricted Social Security Card a couple months back, they entered the older ( random ) number and I ended up receiving the same restricted SS Card.

Sorry dear, I knew you had 2 A numbers, but I kinda missed the part where you didn't have I94 number. So what do you say? Should I call them? And if so, how the hell I can get to a real person, the one who is alive and can actually say something different than press 1, press 2, press 6 1/2, ... thank you for calling, good bye..... ?
I guess if I just decide to stick here for another 1,2,3 years (I mean not leave the country) until I get my GC, it probably won't be an issue, but what if I actually want to go somewhere?

This has nothing to do with your ability to leave the country.

If you leave the country, you will be given a new I-94 number. I-94 number isn't that significant. As I already told you, just detach the I-94 from your passport and attach it with the approval letter. I'm guessing you haven't left the country since you got approved?

My scenario is the same. I haven't left the country hence they asked me to attach the old I-94 on the approval notice.

If there's no I-94 # printed, is it necessary to call them and fix it or just leave it? I've heard few people saying there is no I-94 # like you guys mentioned. What is the consequence?
 
I have had the similar case.
If you got your asylum via I-730 as a derivative asylee, your I-94 will have no number. Social Security Office makes a big deal out of it even though it is not a mistake - USCIS will not issue I-94 with number. Get EAD based on asylum and SSA will accept it nicely.

This is correct. Do not about non-issues people.
