multiple entry visa date

I have a fairly minor question with regards to travel outside US

My H1-B expires in Feb 2006 and my employer will extend it as it comes close to Feb 2006.

I have a multiple entry visa stamp for H1-B in my passport that expires on September 1, 2005. I am planning on traveling to India and returning to US before September 1. Is it okay to return on Aug 29, or 30 or even September 1? Also would these return dates be a problem just because the employer name on the multiple entry visa is different from that of my current H1-B document?

I could not obtain any consulate appointment in India to obtain multiple entry due to shortage of time and dates availability.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You can start renewing you h1 as early as 120 days

It is always better to return atleast 10 days early, because flight delays, cancellation, SARS, anything else comes up. If you come last minute, something prevents you to enter on the dot , you will be in deep trouble and deported

Thanks guru for the reply. For various reasons, I cannot return early and so I will be coming back on those days and hoping that flights, etc go smoothly.

From port of entry point of view, assuming I land on 29, 30 or 1; do you think they have any problem in letting me in? Is there any rule that I should come back before 10 day period?

There is no such rule in place
