Moving During The N-400 Process

I applied for my N 400 and completed my biometrics. My application is in the Que for interview at Chicago. I have to move by the middle of next month. From this forum, may filers gettings interviews in august. If I change my address to Baltimore, will my interview will be delayed? Can you suggest what is the best course:confused:
 
Moving to a different service area will result in delay up to 3 months due to jurisdictional change. Naturalization process can easily be delayed, whereas a job offer cannot.
 
In that case, once you move, file an AR-11 and a separate letter to the Chicago DO letting them know your new address. Also ensure your mail is forwarded by USPS to your new address. Chicago DO will most likely send your case file to your new DO. Good luck!!!

No simple answer to this one. You are going to have to weight up which is more important.

If the job offer is that good then live with the Citizenship delays. The Citizenship thing will go through eventually so what's the rush for it? It is not like it will be denied or abandoned if you move.

I'd take the job, file the USCIS change of address forms and do your best to enjoy Baltimore. :)

Also be sure to call the (800) number to change your address.
 
If your interview date is close (i mean within one or two months) can you take the new job and fly back and forth (weekends)?
I am not sure if that will be possible but you can check in that direction as well.
 
I am also in a unique situation. I finally have a job offer in NYC where my spouse and son are. My weekend commute is about to come to an end. However I have told the new employer to keep my current address on file since I own a house here and will fly back for my interview and oath. I won't be changing my Driverse license until I have my oath.

Anyone see an issue with that?
 
If the interview is scheduled in next 2 months, I would keep the current address and come for interview and oath. If not, I will change address and wait in the end of line for interview. I am not in a hurry for a passport, So I guess wait for interview letter.

They ask you during the interview whether there was any change to the form including your address. For a change of address, they ask when (I moved so I know although my move was within the city). You will also have to let the IO know you've got a new job and by that the IO could know you moved to a different state. You cannot not (double negative) say there was no change as you would be under oath...

I don't know how the IO would react that if you say you now reside in a different state.

One more thing, I don' think USPS forwards Federal government mail... I know they didn't in the past.

Just Keep this address for until you complete your Interview. Ask your neighbor or friend to check mails. It should not take much time.
Again you have to wait for three months to establish residency in new place.
