Moved to another state(Service center) - Will it affect AOS?

Hi,

My I-485 has been pending with the CSC since Jan 2002. I moved from California to Boston around mid 2002, I am still with the same employer. I have sent AR-11 and recently I called the BCIS National customer service center to inform about change of address.

I am now worried that my case may be transfered to the Vermont Service center. This may delay an already lengthy process. Is there any way I can request the CSC to continue processing my case and not transfer it?

Has anyone's case been transfered? if yes how long was the delay.

USCIS will not transfer cases between service centers. They might probably transfer to nearest local office where you located.

I have read in this forum for some cases where cases got transfered to local office and some being still processed at their initiallly filed service center after changing the location between one service center to another.

so it is totally upto USCIS to decide and varies from case to case

Thanks for your reply. Will this increase or reduce the processing time?, what I mean is will my file be put back at the bottom of the pile at the local office.

Is it advisable for me to request them to continue processing at the same service center or is it pointless?

No, you will should put into the queue at the local office based on your original receipt date at the Service Center.

You can ask for anything, even for them to approve you right away. They will do what they want to do, no matter what you ask for.

You can give ur friend's address in california,if u feel
any discomfort in change of location.
I have done samething to mine. Mine is in TSC. I have given my freinds address in Atlanta & Sent AR 11 for my current location(maryland).
I asked attorney regarding giving freind's Address. he said it is Ok.
