Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you could shed some light. I am born and raised in Canada, but my mom is an american citizen. She came up to Canada in the early 70's and returned to the US for vacations. Now is it going to be easy for me to get dual, or hard, as she has never stayed more than a month, and has not worked in the US, and never registered me, before I turned 18. Any input would be great thank you. I think I do fall in the category of Your citizen parent lived at least 5 years in the United States before you were born; and
At least 2 of these 5 years in the United States were after your citizen parent's 14th birthday. My mom was born in 1950 - and moved to canada in 1970, after marrying my father. She was 19, and in two months would have been 20. I am confused a little bit!!! Do I need to fill out the n-400 application, (Naturalization) or am I an automatic citizen due to my mother???? Please help, I do not know where to begin.
