Minor child awaiting citizenship

We have to travel next year. My husband and I have both become citizens, but my minor child is awaiting the n600 citizenship. Her green card has expired. Will she be allowed back into the country if we use the expired green card? Or how can I speed the process?

Get your child a US passport. You do not have to wait for the N-600 in order to get the child a US passport.

Your child is not awaiting citizenship - she already is a US citizen by law. Apply for the child's US passport ASAP. You will need her original (expired) green card, her original birth certificate with parents' names, and mother's (preferred) or father's original certificate of naturalization as supporting documents for a US passport application.
