Minimum time on F1 status to be eligible for a CPT?

Hi,

I am currently on H4 Visa and planning to start MBA this Sept2008.So i am planning to apply for COS to F1 to be able to do summer internship.

Is there any minimum no. of days i should be on F1 visa to be able to do my summer internship?

As COS might take 30-90 days which will mean by Jan 09 i should be on an F1.Will i be able to do summer internship in May 09?

I dont think that should be an issue, but you may not have got your SSN by the time you are ready for your summer internship..

So does it count from the day you put in your application for COS to F1 or the day your application for F1 is approved?

I will apply for COS 1 month before I start my school.So from the date of my application i would be on F1 for 1 academic year but if i count from the date of approval it can take 30-90 days.Will i be able to Get CPT then?
