Middle name

I heard it might take longer if one's changing name. How about I just want to ADD a middle name?

It's still considered a name change and requires the same amount as regular name change.

I added my middle name in front of the interview officer when I was naturalized. He just ask me to fill out a sheet and he took care the whole process. I don't even have to appear iin court. That was like 13 years back...not sure about now.

I'm guessing in your case, the court came to your ceremony...that's why you did not have appear in court. A lot of ceremonies used to be judicial ceremony with a judicial official present.
