medical examination problems

Hello, I was wondering if someone with latent TB or active TB has any chance to go through considering he/she has finished their medical exam today and has interview appointment in a week. Will the person's application be put on hold while they're being treated till the end of fiscal year? Or is it an ultimate disqualification?

You will most likely be asked to come back for your interview when the TB treatment has been completed and you're cleared by the Panel Doctor. It is certainly not an immediate disqualification.

That is good to hear. But the person was told to appear at the embassy regardless of the medical result. So given that other conditions are met, maybe they will be put on hold (AP) until they are cleared? Btw does anybody know how long it may take to cure a person with active or latent tb if he or she starts their medication now? It would suck for the person if the embassy ran out of visa while theyre being treated. :(

Being told to still appear at the embassy is the right call, but it does not necessarily mean an actual interview will take place. Appearing for the initially scheduled interview gives the petitioner an opportunity to find out the procedure for returning to the embassy following the completion of the recommended treatment. The first step in determining a TB presence following the initial indication of TB will be for the panel doctor to conduct a sputum test. Once the sputum test indicates the presence of TB, be it latent or active, I believe treatment could be anywhere between 6-9 months.
