Medical Assistance for mother

Hello all,

I live in the State of California and I was wondering if there was a really convenient method of making doctor appointments for my diabetic mother's checkup. Please note that she's a derivative asylee.

She's diabetic and I'm yet to hit a jackpot. On a serious note, I thought 'assistance' would've given you a hint on medical aid or something. She doesn't work and I'm trying to find some cheap method to get her treated...

She doesn't qualify as she's in 50s and isn't disabled. She's been here in the country for less than 4 months (derivative asylee) and I don't really know what/how I could get her treated.

I think you are misinformed. In CA, you need to apply for Medi-Cal. It has nothing to do with age and disability. Read this website: http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/medi-cal/Pages/Medi-CalFAQs.aspx#whatismedi-cal
