Does Name check expedite request really work???? Or shooting in the dark?

I am stuck in Name check...

Called VSC to find out the status learned that Name check Initiated Feb 9 2005. No news yet from FBI.

Can some body tell me normally how much time does it take. I understand that in worst case it could take more than 2 years :)))
 
In a few months, my name checking will be pending for 2 years. sent expedite request and attached FOIPA no records response letter from FBI in March. no response so far. there are probably 2 reasons why they haven't responsed.
1) too screwed up to response.
2) too careless to response.

whatever the reason might be? it is uttimately for "national security" reason. For non-GC holder, US is one way street. you just need good patience and good health to live long enough until GD is approved.

I sent a name check expedite request wity FOIPA attachment to FBI by certify mail. Do you know how long it will take to receive a response from FBI?
Did you receive any response and what's the content of the response? Thanks.

forget about expedite NC requests with FIOPA... looks like it is a no help situation. my NC is pending for over 1 year so far, sent bunch of emails/letter/fax to FBI, they didn't even respond to a status request...

my best guess is that we just have to wait as it looks like as LIFO :(

eventually we will get it cleared.

P.S.

does anyone know if a work at a major bank (they took my FP back in 2002 for background checks with FBI) could be a reason to have a file with the FBI ? do they store such requests made by others and it may result in a "HIT" on the name ?

don't know what to think of at this very moment... and I care less about it now, just applied for EAD renewals, we will see....

Some time back I managed to speak to some one in FBI HQ. I asked her that what can be done to expedite the Name check.
She told me that there are only two way to expedite. (1) USCIS asks FBI to expedite. (2) Congressman/Senator putup request to Congressional representative.

Name Check Result after Expedite request

Hi,

Did any one received a positive name check result after sending expedite request along with FOIPA - "No-Records" attachments.

In case they have received what is the time frame.

For me FBI responded in 12 days for FOIPA.
No response on name check expediate request. To me last year's approvals appear like election agenda. Pardon politics.
Not sure what I must do next :o
 
FBI name check pending !

Same is the case with me, FBI responded in 14 days for FOIPA. Sent expediate request but no response from FBI till now.
