Goto 'http://travel.state.gov/hlop.html' and check for required documents. For your wife, I think only DS-156 is needed along with 100$+75$ . You can send both the passports in same cover with all the necessary docuements. Include all the documents that you are giving in a covering letter.

Good luck and wait for atleast 3 months to get it back.

My SL RD is 8th, and I plan to go to India before 15th Aug. I have to play it by the ear.

It seems like it will take 12 weeks from DC rcvd date and i guess i will get my passport back by August 23rd ( if there is no query and no more delays)

Still no update

Called the visa office. No updates. The lady politely mentioned that it takes 12-14 weeks from the DC Date. Whi ch in itself is about 10 days after SL Date. These people are implying a 4 month processs now, without completely spelling it out.

A few people have commented that by calling frequently, we may be slowing down the process. The fact is this is a different department who answer our calls. My suggestion is that we call as frequently as we can to make it known that we are not exactly happy with this situation.
 
do u need a lawyer

for the process of visa stamping at st. louis is it safe to do it urself by reading the instructions at the website or do we need a lawyer.

Lawyer is not nessasary for this process. Just read the information and keep all the required documents. That's it

I called visa office today, She told me that my visa has approved. But I will get the PP next week only. They need 5 days to print and despatch. I will update once I received the PP.

my credit card number on prepaid fedex package is no nore valid.

i called fedex they said they will return it back to sender....

i called visa office. they said they will send by normal post.
i don't know what to do.

Even I got the reply that mine got approved and posted the info already. they told me that it takes 7 to 10 days and i called now to check when it was approved but she said she couldn't have that info. or send me the full info when u got while talking to them at my mail id pokku@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance.
 
hi guys
i can see that fedex has my package. don't know whether they approved the visa or not. i will get it tomorrow. one day too late. just postponed my tickets and got the new ones . what a waste.
