Marrying Green Card Holder, I am on H1

Hi,

I have few quick questions. My friends was giving some information and i needed clarifications.

My Fiancee is a Green Card Holder. I am on my H1 for 5 yrs now. i have applied for my Green card recently.

I was planning to get married this summer.
My collegue says if register marry her i will loose my h1 status and be a dependent and cant go out of the country.

She got her GC 8 months back.

Can i marry her and still maintain my H1? If i register marriage here will i loose my H1?

Do i have to wait 4 yrs untill she can apply for citizenship to get married?
Please answer. Quite scary thought.
Please suggest which is best for me.

This is incorrect. Get married, but you'll need to keep the H-1 alive (ie. keep moving on your GC) in order to stay in the US.
