Got PP finally!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
After a terrible 4 months(exactly 120 days) wait, I got my PP today with stamping.
Thanks for the forum and good luck to all.

Spoke today with the visa specialist. My visa has been issued this week, which is good news. However I have tickets for 7/16 and it is only 1 week left. I am worried that my passports may not make it back to me by the 16-th. I don't know exactly the date when they issued the visa, the officer just told me it happened this week...
Anyone can tell how long it took between the issue and mailing dates for your PP?

(SL RD 3/11)

Although I bet it varies for each case, mine are:
issued (approved) on 27th June, printed on 1st July received on 8th July.

Silent, I hope in your case the holiday was a factor...
It seems like it takes 2-3 bus. days to stamp the visa after it's issuance and they mail it on the same or next day....
It seems like a week should be enough, but man... it's cutting it so close.....

It's second business day FedEx... I guess I didn't know it would be so close. I called FedEx today and asked them what would it take to change it to priority overnight. They said it could be done once they get the scan for the shipment in the system. So I will have to do that if necessary when I see on-line that the package is shipped...

fedex numbers pls ..

..we are really caught up in this quagmire ..
antipod: could you please post the numbers youa re dialing to reach fedex and the options please!!!

thanks
Rox

FedEx number is 1800-463-3339.
I don't remember the options but it is pretty straight forward, just get to the live operator.

Visa Refused!

Hi,
My visa got refused because, apparently the DS-157 form was missing.

Anybody have an idea as to how long they usually take to re-process with the new application ?

Does my passport get stuck in the 12 week period again ?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Regards,
Kas.

Hi Kas,
What was your DC received date? I don't think it will take another 12 weeks. You will be given priority.
Thanks

My receive date is March 5th.
I got it back last week, July 3rd.

I am leaning towards sending it back again....only if it is not likely that it will take another 12 weeks.

Thanks for the opinion.

Kas.

So-o-o MAD....

...at these a-holes who we have to deal with...!
This "visa specialist" told me on Wednesday that the visa had been issued this week. I said that I have travel reservations on 7/16 and would really appreciate if they could send the passports back to me this week. The answer I got was "can't tell you anything, I don't know, I have no information" - as usual.
Comes this afternoon, checked FedEx, still nothing sent. Called them again. Same freaking answer.
I mean they screwed up with their data entry, I had to re-schedule my trip once already and loose money because of them and she can't look up in the damn computer and tell me if the shipped the package yet or not.... What a b..tch !
I know there are a couple of ladies, maybe more.. One of them was really helpful when I called, she took my number, send an e-mail to somebody while I was still on the phone and suggested to call in a couple of days. But the other one, who speaks with an accent, is just a piece of.... Really , if I have to call there again on Monday and get to talk to her, I am not gonna take this crap any more. I will ask for a supervisor and I am going to find a way to throw some s**t back at that place.
I know it's the government and it's the same way everywhere in the world. But why be such and a**hole?? At least pretend you are making some effort to help.
OK guys, I am just letting some steam out. I can't believe I've waisted a month and a half thinking and checking on these passports and reading this board (although it has been REALLY helpful to understand what's going on), instead of doing what I planned to do with my family. And at the end - I still can't go because they couldn't send my passports back to me 1 freaking day earlier......

Screwed big time!!!!

I just cannot believe this!!!....
We are dealing with so much incompetency here that I have no words to describe it.
I was told last week that my visa had been issued. Nothing arrived so far....
I called DC yesterday, finally was lucky enough to talk to a person who was willing to spend more than 10 seconds on the conversation. Well, she tells me that my passports were sent back to me on 7/8 - almost a week ago. I said: "What do you mean? My FedEx account doesn't show anything.." She goes: "Well they were sent" She couldn't tell me if they were sent FedEx, regular mail, old man on a donkey or what....
So that's it... I am sitting here a week after my passports were supposedly sent to me, with no means to track the package. My plane is flying tomorrow, of course my trip is not happening now...
And I already had to reschedule it once, so now my whole family's summer plans and hopes are screwed up. Thanks State Dep!!!
Of course now I am fearing that they lost my passports. I also had original I-94s in them, so they would be lost too. Shure I had a return air bill enclosed in the package that I sent to them back in early March. How irresponsible and incompetent these idiots could be to loose stuff from the package or just ignore the airbill.
What the heck am I supposed to do if all the passports and I-94s are lost???? I am seriously rethinking if it is worth to stay in this country any further and keep dealing with this garbage - this is just ridiculous!!!!!!

Antipod,
I understand and sympathise totally with your predicament, I was in almost the same situation as you in terms of cancelling vacation plans. But I hope you will employ the more tactful technique for now and respectfully write and make inquiries at this web site:
http://contact-us.state.gov/ask_form_cat/ask_form_visa.html

I hope you don't think I am patronising but I very well understand your frustration. I hope you will take time to calm yourself down before you write to the appropriate people, explaining all the hardhsip you are facing because of the, well, for lack of a better word, mighty cock-up!
I do not agree with some people on this forum who have even warned some of us who are anxiously calling the visa office to track our cases, not to irritate the 'visa specialists' with phone calls. Believe me, no one in their right mind wants to call the visa office (and hold for 40 mins or more), for pleasure. There are plenty of other alternatives we can think of, for a thrill!! It might be worth reminding ourselves that we are welcomed on an H1B visa into the US because we are good at what we do, not because the US is charitable!
Finally, but most importantly Antipod, I hope your passports gets to you soon and safe, whether it comes by land, water or air!
