Hello dnaran,
Did you send DS-156 with barcode or just the space with barcode? Do you think non-barcode DS-156 will delay processing? Thanks

Today I received mine and my spouse's passports stamped with new VISA. Evrything looks good. Thanks guys for sharing info on this forum and all the best to those who are still waiting ..

Passport received

Today I received my passport stamped with new VISA. Mine was a 7th yr extension so got the visa stamp for 1 year . I had submitted DS-156 with barcode . Thanks guys for sharing info on this forum and all the best to those who are still waiting ..

Friends,

This forum is a great Place......!

Here is an Update...! The Fedex Tracking Came back saying my package was picked up on May 10th ,4:39 pm.

Since I moved from my original address I requested fedex to hold the package....! So I will come to know the verdict after I drive 200 miles and pick up the package...! Starngely Fedex refused to forward it to my new address saying it's their policy and shipper should request for it....! Now who will explain them the Shipper Story......

Just did not inform State dept. in Dc about change of address as I thought it may delay the stamping...! Hope everything is as expected.... as this is a 7th year extn!

Didn't you put your address in sender's address as well?
I saw that mentioned on DOS website to put your own address on both the places, sender as well recipient

At first I like to congratulate everyone who got their passport stamped sucessfully.
It will be highly appreciated If anyone in this forum can help me on the following items
of DS-156 and DS-157. The reason I am asking these questions to find out the correct answers
to avoid any rejection due to incorrect information. So please advise...

Q-22. When do you intend to Arrive in The US?
Shall I leave it balnk or write 'Already in US' by hand?

Q-24. What address will you stay.......
As I am already in US is it OK to give my current address
or leave blank????

Q-25. Name and Telephone Numbers of Person in US......
Shall I leave blank or mention 'N/A' in all the fields.

Q-26. How long do you intend to stay in the US?
I guess I have to mention the date on my new H1 approval.

Q-27. What is the purpose of your Trip?
Shall I write.. 'I am already in US and currently working on H1B
and my employer is ABC.' or anybody has any suggestion on this.
For spouse... should it be 'Staying with my husband.' ???.....

Q-28. Who will Pay for your Trip?
Shall I write .. 'N/A (Already in US)' or anybody has any suggestion on this

Q-29. Have you ever been in the US.?
Please suggest in details. Date part is most confusing.
Date : Should I mention the date on which I entered first time in US?
For How long : Should I say ... 'Till Date.'

Q-30. Have you ever been issued a US Visa?
Should be YES and then what should be in the DATE field? As this is
my 7th year extension I have already extended 2 times and stamped
for my 1st extension. I did not stamped my current one. So should it
be the 'issue date' of the last visa stamping???

Q-32 Do you intend to work in the US?
As I am already working what should I mention?
Should it be.. 'YES' and the employer's name and address?

Q-34. Names and Relationships of Persons Traveling....
Should it be... 'N/A (Already in US)' ??

For DS-157
Q-18. Have you made any specific travel arrangements?
Should be 'No' and then shall I mention that 'Already in US' ???

Separate question....
Do I have to give copies of my last pay stub?

For Q29

I wrote the first date and then counted the period of stay since then. So came on f1 and then did H1 for 3 yrs. So for me I wrote 5 yrs.

For Q.30

I left blank and printed the form and wrote dates and places for both F1 and H1. So that way this is consistent with Q.29.

Be aware that I havent sent out my forms yet. So dont go completely on my advice. Make sure what other people have to say. I got different answers on this forum for these questions, so I kind of merged all answers and came up with this. After all ur just providing them with all the facts.

Thanks for this hint. I am not sure what I put as a sender ? Let me call Fedex and verify. If I have put it as you said then it would save me a trip.
