March Revalidation Tracker

Hi,
I am planning to send my and my wife’s (on H4) passport for revalidation.
I am having some doubts regarding DS-156(with barcode) and DS-157
and need help/guidance from this excellent forum.

In DS-156 form what should be the answer for following questions
which I found little confusing.

Q-22. When do you intend to Arrive in US?
As I am already in US shall I leave blank????

Q-24. What address will you stay.......
As I am already in US is it OK to give my current address
or leave blank????

Q-25. Name and Telephone Numbers of Person in US......
Shall I leave blank or what??

Q-26. How long do you intend to stay in the US?
I guess I have to mention the date on my new H1 approval

Q-27. What is the purpose of your Trip?
Shall I write.. 'I am already in US and currently working on H1B
and my employer is ABC.' or anybody has any suggestion on this.
For spouse... should it be 'Staying with my husband.' ???.....

Q-28. Who will Pay for your Trip?
Shall I write .. 'N/A (Already in US)' or anybody has any suggestion on this

Tough one for me....
Q-29. Have you ever been in the US.?
Please suggest in details. Date part is most confusing.

Another one...
Q-30. Have you ever been issued a US Visa?
Should be YES and then what should be in the DATE field? As this is
my 7th year extension I have already extended 2 times and stamped
for my 1st extension. I did not stamped my current one. So should it
be the 'issue date' of the last visa stamping???

Q-32 Do you intend to work in the US?
As I am already working what should I mention?
Should it be.. 'YES' and the employer's name and address?

Q-34. Names and Relationships of Persons Traveling....
Should it be... 'N/A (Already in US)' ??

For DS-157
Q-18. Have you made any specific travel arrangements?
Should be 'No' and then shall I mention that 'Already in US' ???

Separate question....
Do I have to give copies of my last pay stub?

It's my turn to say "Got it", yesterday evening saw a FedEx attempt delivery failure message hanging out side my apt door and picked it today.

Guys,

I'm in really bad situation. I need your help. I've sent my Passport to St.Louis for Revalidation on 02/28/04 through USPS. The Tracking information shows that It has been delivered on 03/01/04. I've checked with the bank, the money orders have been encashed on 03/04/04. I've called WashingtonDC office, they are telling that They've not received the passport from St.Louis. Is there any way to call St.Louis office and request them search my passport. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Refusal of visa under Section 221(g)

Hi,
There is a bad news for us.

I received our passports (my wife's. son's and mine) back along with a letter saying that they are unable to process our application under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Any idea what it is?

It also quotes "PER SOP # 46"

In addition, the letter states that we must apply for a new visa overseas at a US emabssy or consulate.

Previous visa has been cancelled with "Cancelled without Prejudice."

Any clue what this all mean? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Sudesh,

Sorry to hear about the rejection of revalidation. If you check the State Dept website the reasons of 221g is either missing/improper documents, picture etc or that the state dept requires an interview but to process that one has to go outside the country to apply at the embassy/consulate.

The cancellation of previous visa is not a big issue, the only way you can get the visa stamp now is goto an Embassy/Consulate
(preferebly in your Home Country).

I am sorry to hear the news, I have no clue what the letter means but I saw the same in my passport that my previous visa has been cancelled with "Cancelled without Prejudice" stamped.

Did u mentioned in the Ds-156 that your visa that you applied for immigration visa?
May be that is the reason

How do you guys filled q.22 in the DS-156 barcoded.
22.when do you intend to arrive in the us.
how did you guys mentioned " i am already in usa.
after taking the print out did you handwriten on that or what ??
 
The fedex tracking number shows up online :) My passport will be delivered on 11th and I hope it won't have any surprises...

I just checked my fedex tracking no. online and it says my passport was picked up on 7th May and will be delivered on 10th . I will let you know the result once I get it

Thankyou guys for this forum. My sympathy lies with Sudesh.
Sudesh everything should be fine when you will get your visa from your home country.
 
Visa expiry date

I sent my passport and documents for revalidation a little late, my stamp expired on Apr 01 2003. I applied for extension in June 2003, but sent out my passport only on March 25thish. So I assuming that the DC or St.Louis office would have recieved it before Apr 1,2004. So will the rule that says "within one year of visa expiry" still apply, because I sent out the papers before the one year expiry. Or is it one year after the expiry when the personnel actually process my application?
Anyone in this situation before.

I think that it is cancelled without prejudice because of the reason.

** Your existing visa has beeb expired for more than 1 year

I remember last year my friend also got the same "Cancelled without Prejudice" because his existing visa has been expired for more than 1 year.

Appan,

Applying for immigarion visa has got nothing to do with 221g.
