My attorney forwarded me approval letter through email (apparently they get a copy before we do)

My approval letter is coming through USPS today (checked online and envelope is there)
Asylum approved dated July 7th 2025
You might waste a year of your time. Even if you apply today, there’s no guarantee that they’ll approve your application this year. In the worst case scenario, you might lose your $1440 application fee and lawyers fee. (Its my opinion)Spoke with lawyer yesterday, he suggested to apply for i485 GC closer to completion of one year considering the pause /rejections on green card these days
He don't want to take risk of having me rejected (it will be a huge mess if that happens)

i485 based on asylum requires 1 year of physical presence in USA to be eligible to get green card, not sure who gets approval in 3 monthsYou might waste a year of your time. Also I saw some videos on YouTube saying their clients got approval in 3 months.
1. Lawyer gets paid in full, there is no return since scheduling interview is beyond Lawyer's control and is up to USCIS .... Lawyer does its best through filing a compelling case in federal court that client has been waiting for way too long and it is past USCIS's processing time ( 4 years is usually considered an agreed magic number)I have a question about mandamus. The amount is very large... If the application is rejected or contested... In this case, do you lose the entire amount paid... or does the lawyer return part of it to you?
