Maintained residence in different state

In sep\'99 I had maintained residence in a different state, even though, I had registered for school for 1 credit hour in MA(For thesis purpose, and that too just for 1 semester). I was in F-1 status. I was wondering while filling the biographic information is that a problem. I guess I have to tell them my last five years of residence and also that I had maintained residence in FL, I was doing my school work from home
