Mailing Address vs Home Address

Guys please help:

I am completing the application for citizenship and have a questions:

They have separate home address and mailing address fields. Can I give a different address in mailing address field. I live in an apartment, and may be moving, or may even leave the state to find another job. Can I just give my sister's address for mailing address? She lives in a different state than me but her address is permanent. Is this ok?

So my questions are:

1) can I give a mailing address that is different from my home address and has a different city and state?
2) can I instead get a PO Box and give that as my mailing address so if I move I dont have to worry about losing my mail.

Thank you guys.

If it is certain that you move to another state soon, I would first move, live in that state for 3 months and then apply for N-400. Otherwise, if you apply now from your current state, things get pretty complicated with moving files across USCIS District Offices. You can be in for headaches. Just my personal opinion.

I guess my main question is, can you give a different mailing address than your home address with different city and state, and secondly, can you use a PO Box for mailing address?

Yes, you can use PO Box for mailing address. Also, mailing address may be in different state from home address, but may raise questions from IO at interview as to your actual physical residence.
