Mailing additional docs for pending EAD/AP

wonderfull

Registered Users (C)
Can I send additional documents (marriage certificate, etc) to BCIS wrt pending EAD/AP renewals? Hopefully this may avoid an RFE...

I am planning to send additional docs to the respective BCIS mail box with the attachments.

Not that this will prevent an RFE but worth a try..

Comments?

I did electronic filing of EAD, and then mailed the supporting docs at their respective mailing address (FedEx Address)

I included a cover letter, mentioning many identifiers (I-140 Approval notice number, A#, pending 485# etc) so that it goes to the right file (MY FILE). Also mentioned on the envelope that these are "Supporting Documents for pending I-765" in bold letters.

When they received it, status was changed that they have received my response to RFE. (which is usual)

There's no harm in doing so, if there's time before your file will be touched, then just go ahead and send it. If its about to be processed in near future, then wait for RFE (because RFE might give you a different address to send the response to)

Best of luck.

Yes, it is a good idea to send additional documents if u have applied before few months...

What is Service Center?

What is RD/ND?

Thanks,

Harish

I feel like it is a good idea, but wouldn't it confuse the IIO that you send some more docs without getting any RFE?
I feel like my file is lost, if i send them passport color copies, atleast they will look into my file!

Write your A # EAC or WAC or CSC # your full name, DOB, and write in the cover letter your recent Receipt # or Copy of receipt so that they can attach to pending file ( if they do)

But a new application is neither an Appeal nor a Motion.
I'd just write "Supporting Documents for Pending I-131/I-765"

I found this on the BCIS website for sending additional papers for previously filed Application

"If evidence is being submitted in support of a previously filed appeal or motion, a cover letter stating "BRIEF FOR APPEAL", etc., should be placed on top of the packet"

Also refer to http://www.immigration.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/scnational/index.htm#H

Good Luck

wonderfull, Did you finally send the document? If you did, did you get any response from them? Was your online status changed to anything? Did you send it to the same PO Box address for AP application, or to a seperate general address?

so do you mean that in case of efile even if its a renewal. We have to send support for additional documents. Without that your case would not be approved.
I have still not send any documents. I filed my renewal on 05/29 i.e. on very first day. And still waiting for renewal.
So pls mention is properly what are supposed to do.
Thanks,:)

reach_honey,
You may get approved since its a renewal, and you may get an RFE. I was filing for the first time, so just to avoid any RFE....I sent in the documents. You time is about to come, they were processing 5/8 cases on 7/15.

Please let us know whatever you do, or whatever happens in your case.

Thanks.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I am a one of you. I am not a lawyer. So act accordingly.

When direct phones were working at the offices ( specifically Vermont), I asked lawyer the same question. That's what she recommended: to call the office and get the officer's ID, send it directly to that officer, so they can in turn put it in your file instead of ending up in the general box and sitting there ofr months. Now, of course, it is a little more complex with one 800 phone number available. I am wondering, if they still can give you officer's? Worth trying?

Guys today it got approved for me this is my 2nd EAD. This is what it says on online message.
I did not send any additional documents after filing online for 2nd EAD. Good luck to remaining people

Just as I was going to go pre-emptive and send color photo copies for my passport, I checked online status check for my AP and it says

"On August 5, 2003, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued."

My ND is 05/07/03

I had enclosed black and white copy of my driver's liscence only, and no copies of my passport when I mailed my application.

Guys,

My AP is getting expired. I need to get it renewed. Can one of you please tell the documents that have to be submitted while applying AP.

This is the first time I am doing this of my own. I read the instructions it says about a letter to say as to "Why I need this AP?" I don't have any format for this.

I would really appreciate your help in this regard.

Thanks
KM

I finally got around to sending additional docs for EAD renewal. The additional docs I attached were copies of I-140 approval and marriage certificate.

Mailed the letter my Express Mail (Fedex does not deliver to mail box) and marked: Additional documents for pending I-765 on the envelope.

My EAD renewal ND is July 7, 2003. Will update the community on progress..Now wishing for renewal without an RFE.

What Service Center were you sending you paperwork? I always used Fedex or UPS to send mine to VSC and the same person always was signing for it. I guess, other centers are different.

EAD renewal Center: CSC.
Fedex: My Admin is the source of Fedex not delivering to P.O.Boxes...have not verified personally.
