hi all...i have been reading this forums for soemtime now n wanna thank you all for the wealth of information this community is providing to everyone else!...
my parents will soon be going for their green card interview at our local US embassy...if approved, they get their green card...my questions are:
1) i am unmarried, 28 year old male...can i be included under "following-to-join" benefit and accompany them to the US as a permenat resident (as in i do not have to file a seperate petition)?
2) if i do not qualify under "following-to-join", i know LPR parents can apply for unmarried children (over age 21)...this is a second prefrence category, can anyone tell me how long this process can take?
3) i have a nonimmigrant valid VISA visa (5 years multiple)...is it better that my parents file my petition once I am in the US or could I end up in problem (since I wud have enterd the US on a visit visa)...i guess my question is if it in anyway benefits me if I have a valid visit visa stamped on my passport...
your comments and thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated...
thanks all!
