Hi guys.
Here is the situation. I got my Asylum based EAD issued on April 17 2012. My asylum case is still pending since the interview on Nov 17 2011. Now is the right time to renew my EAD before its expiry date (April 17 2013) But it's lost. So I do not have the supported documents ( back and front copy of old EAD ). If I apply for replacement, the new EAD would probably only have 1 valid months on it. It's not worth the $380. But If I apply for renewal, I do not have the copy of my old EAD. What should I do? A lawyer friend told just apply for renewal without supplying the copy of old EAD, he said the USCIS has the info of my earlier approval of EAD in their data once they see my A number. They wouldn't trip. But it sounds a little suspicious to me.
Besides. I lost everything related to my identity except for a NV state ID. Passport , social security card and any documents related to my asylum application and EAD application are lost. I do not need EAD to work for now because I work at vegas strip as a costumed character earning tips. However I need the EAD to get a drivers license this year. My NV ID will expire on April 17 2013 too.
